Nurses/clinicians
Every day, nurses and their patients throughout the UK quite literally get to grips with Docobo’s telehealth solutions. We work with nurses and nursing staff at all levels and in various capacities to provide the benefits of telehealth services, both to them as carers, and to their patients.
All patients are different, requiring varying degrees of nursing attention based on several factors, including the severity of their condition, their lifestyle and their reliance on medical support.
For example, some patients are quite capable of monitoring aspects of their own health, relying instead on the nurse and the nurse’s expertise in telehealth solutions to help them remotely through Doc@HOME. Other patients clearly need more direct and face to face attention, requiring frequent visits by the nurse. This applies particularly to the elderly, frail, house-bound or patients who do not find it easy to travel to the clinic or hospital.
By working with patients who can take a role in monitoring their own health, not only does it free up the patient and nurse’s time, it means that patients who really rely on nursing care can benefit accordingly.
Furthermore, telehealth is also emerging as a ‘quality of life’ factor for nurses. Case load can be quite demanding and by introducing telehealth systems the overall management of patients has been proven to become easier.
As an innovative, fast-growing and important aspect of modern healthcare, telehealth is very much part of the Government’s plans to improve healthcare delivery, both in the public and private sectors. More and more nurses are keen to develop the experience and skills necessary to work in a professional telehealth environment.
