We talk to Adrian Flowerday, MD of Docobo, about Docobo’s recent visit to Digital Health Rewired.

‘We’ve just come back from Digital Health Rewired,  where we shared a stand with some of our System C & Graphnet Care Alliance partners: System C Healthcare, Graphnet Health, Liquid Logic and CareFlow Medicines Management. Held at the Business Design Centre in Islington, it was the first time a lot of the industry had had the chance to get together face to face, and we had an amazing time catching up with clients, colleagues and friends across the sector.

As well as getting the chance to demonstrate DOC@HOME® to attendees, we also visited some of the fantastic talks that were going on across the exhibition.

NHS England and Improvement Director of Transformation, Dr Timothy Ferris, spoke clearly about capacity challenges facing the NHS . He went on to explain that one of the biggest challenges facing the NHS is capacity, but how this can be tackled with the introduction of virtual wards – something that is very close to our hearts, here at Docobo.

Dr Ferris went on to say: “This is what is called virtual wards, or home hospital, which is taking care of patients at home that would have otherwise been hospitalised and enabling this through a method that uses technology to make sure that we are monitoring the patients at distance and that we are communicating between clinicians and patients, all in real time, as if they were in hospital.” He strongly believes – as do we – that in this way, technology can impact positively on capacity challenges across the NHS. It was great to see some of our clients speaking, including Sharon Boundy, Associate Director of System Transformation at Frimley Health and Care ICS and Frimley Health FT. Sharon spoke on Day 1 during the ‘Remote Patient monitoring and care delivery’ session on Stage 1, sharing her experiences of rolling out remote patient monitoring and the benefits she’d seen.

Markus Bolton, joint CEO of System C also spoke on the Rewired stage about integrated care and the importance of the ICS model and its value for patients.

All in all Digital Health Rewired was a brilliant event, we met so many people and had so many interesting conversation. The ability to demonstrate interoperability between the Care Alliance systems was a real hot topic – and a key point of interest for everyone who came to the stand.
