Meet the Docobo Team: James, iOS Engineer
In this series, we will be meeting some of the Docobo team members and finding out more about their role
Meet James, he is an iOS Engineer, based at our Bookham Office and remotely. James joined the Docobo team in August 2021
Hi James, what do you typically do in a day in your role?
On a typical day, I’d fix any bugs, implement new features, and generate ideas for future versions of the iOS app
What do you particularly enjoy about your role?
I really like the freedom that I have to suggest new ideas. The knowledge that my work allows people to update their healthcare providers about their condition from the comfort of their homes and stay out of hospital
What do you find challenging about your role?
I’m the lead iOS engineer at Docobo so am ultimately responsible for the overall development work and enhancements of the app, it’s a lot of responsibility and I’m always keen to exceed expectations
What did you do before you joined Docobo?
I’ve been an iOS engineer for 7 years, and in that time have worked for agencies, supermarkets, and other healthcare companies. I always seem to attract projects that are just that little bit more complex, and I’ve worked with augmented reality, machine learning, 3D models, iBeacons, GPS, NFC, QR codes, VOIP, to name just a few
Are your colleagues supportive – if so, tell us more…
Of course. Docobo is a huge system built over many years and there’s dozens of features which no single person could be expected to be an expert on. We all support each other with our product knowledge, but also bring in new ideas from each of our specialisms
