Docobo integrates Attend Anywhere video functionality from NHS England onto its devices

Docobo has announced that it has integrated the NHS Attend Anywhere functionality into the docoboAPP enabled devices it sends out to patients and carers. Docobo provides the DOC@HOME remote monitoring solution and ARTEMUS population health management solution across the NHS.

Attend Anywhere is a video conference service that NHS England has made available to NHS organisations to enable virtual outpatient appointments via video consultation. Patients are typically sent a letter with an URL link and an appointment time. Via any standard web browser, patients then go into a video ‘waiting room’ online and wait there until a consultant is ready for the consultation.

As Docobo is sending out phones loaded with its docoboAPP to thousands of elderly people on the shielded list during the COVID-19 pandemic, they have built in functionality that enables a patient to simply and easily access an Attend Anywhere clinic from within the app.  With the docoboAPP installed, the patient receives a secure message with a clickable URL of the clinic embedded in the message, along with information about the clinic. The patient can then click on the link and is taken straight to the clinic “waiting room” ready for their appointment, without having to download anything or know how to use a browser.

Our docoboAPP was specifically designed to make it easy for our older long-term condition patients to be remotely and safely monitored. It makes perfect sense to us to integrate this capability to ensure equality of access for those who may not be tech savvy. They will be able go directly to their Attend Anywhere clinical page by clicking on the link they receive, quickly and easily and without having to copy out or download anything, nor leave the docoboAPP."

Use of DOC@HOME offers other significant capability benefits for outpatient services in the post COVID-19 world, allowing patients to be assessed and managed at home, reducing the need for face to face contact for areas such as pre and post-operative, symptom collection, follow-up clinics, INR, PROMS, etc.
